Village Hall FAQs.
There are some questions that crop up more often than others, so we’ve done our best to address them here. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll do our best to help and advise.
I’d like to start a new group or teach a class at the village hall, is this possible?
We love to hear that people are interested in getting involved in village life and creating learning opportunities or entertainment at the hall. Get in touch to discuss your ideas and we’ll do what we can to help.
What facilities are available for small group presentations?
The lounge houses a projector with HDMI and VGA connections, with good sound output. There is a microphone available. WiFi is available throughout the building and increased capacity can be accessed, by arrangement, for presentation use.
How much is it to hire the Village Hall?
The hourly charge for the Hall depends if you want to use only the main hall, the lounge, the kitchen or a combination. Please contact our booking secretary to discuss your needs and we will be able to provide a clear and straightforward price depending on your requirements.
Do I have to clean up immediately after my party?
If you’re having an evening event, we understand you might be too tired (or a bit worse for wear!) to clean up as soon your guests leave. Although it is not always possible, we try our best to ensure that the hall will be open for you to come back in the morning at a designated time – bring your eager tidying team – and get the hall ship shape again after a good night’s sleep.
It is expected that the hall should be left as you found it.
What time will the bar staff serve until?
The bar is licensed until midnight Mon-Sat and until 10.30pm on Sunday. Last orders will be called 15 minutes before closing.
Does the village hall have baby changing facilities?
Yes. There is a baby changing area in the disabled toilet.
Is there disabled access throughout the hall?
The downstairs of the village hall is all on one level with low threshold doors and a disabled toilet. There are disabled parking spaces close to the main entrance.
Can anyone use the gym?
The gym is upstairs and, unfortunately, there is no disabled access here. Villagers are welcome to join the gym club – please use the contact us page to register your interest, and we can put you in touch with a member of the Gym Club to find out about current membership fees and arrange an induction.
